Denise Hop, 35, of Sioux Falls, a Charter Hospital employee, died Wednesday, June 19, 1996, at Sioux Valley Hospital.
Denise Kay Hollenbeck was born Dec 15, 1960, in Cherokee, Iowa. She graduated from Marcus, Iowa, High School and attended school in Sioux City, Iowa, and Sheldon, Iowa.
She married Daniel J. Hop on Sept. 18, 1982, in rural Marcus. They lived in Sioux Center, Iowa, and moved to Denver, Colo. in 1990. They returned to Sioux City in 1993 and have lived in Sioux Falls since 1994.
She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her parents, Fred and Arlene Hollenbeck of Marcus; one sister, Lori Talley of Falls Church, Va.; and one brother, Kent of Vermillion.
Services begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Marcus, with burial at the Marcus-Amherst Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 2 p.m. today at Earnest and Roethler Funeral Chapel in Marcus, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m.

Denise (Hollenbeck) Hop, 35, of Sioux Falls, S.D. died Wednesday, June 19, 1996, in Sioux Valley Hospital at Sioux Falls. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Marcus. Rev. Marvin Kormann officiated and burial was in the Marcus-Amherst Cemetery. Visitation was held in the Earnest and Roethler Funeral Chapel at Marcus, which was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hope, the former Denise Kay Hollenbeck was born Dec. 15, 1960, at Cherokee. She was the daughter of Fred and Arlene Anderson Hollenbeck. She attended school in Cherokee, Cleghorn, and Schaller and graduated from Marcus High School in 1979. She also attended WIT in Sioux City and NITC at Sheldon. She married Daniel J. Hop, Sept. 18, 1982, in Trinity Lutheran Church at Marcus. They lived in Sioux Center, and moved to Denver, Colo., in 1990. They returned to Sioux City in 1993, and have lived in Sioux Falls, S.D., since 1994. She was employed in Charter Hospital at Sioux Falls. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church at Sioux Falls.
Survivors include: her husband, Dan, of Sioux Falls, S.D.; her parents, Fred and Arlene Hollenbeck of Marcus; a sister, Lori, and her husband, Carl Talley, of Falls Church, Va.; and one brother, Kent of Vermillion, S.D.; her father and mother-in-law, Don and Marlys Hop of Orange City; brothers-in-law, Bruce Hop, of Austin, Texas; and Kevin and his wife, Sharilyn, of Onalaska, Wisc.
