Earl M. Farlee, 79, of 739 Jefferies, Cherokee, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 1991 in Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Church of Christ, Cherokee. Karl Peterson will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee. A family prayer service will be held Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. at the church. Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee, is in charge of arrangements.
He was born July 14, 1912 in Greeley, Colo. To Grover and Emma (Freeland) Farlee. Earl graduated from high school in Wolbach, Neb. During his life, Earl had worked for a dairy in Wolbach, Neb. And served as a road builder for WPA in Burwell, Neb. On Aug. 17, 1931, he married Geneva Erickson in Spencer. He later moved to Sidney, Neb. Where he worked at an ordinance plant during World War II. He worked as a brake mechanic for the Firestone Store in Grand Island, Neb. Until transferring to work for Love Tire Shop in Cherokee in 1949. He then moved to Los Angeles before retiring and moving to Cherokee in 1974.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Oct. 8, 1991, his parents and twin sons, in infancy.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Donna Smith of Red Oak, and Mrs. Dotty D’Angelo and her husband Jack, of Mesa, Ariz.; one son, Gayle Farlee and his wife, Merry, of Cherokee; one sister, Mrs. Inez King of Central City, Neb.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
