Judith A. Peterson, 65, of Cherokee died Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at 11:58 p.m. in the Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee following a nine month illness.
Mrs. Peterson’s body was cremated and there will be no services at this time. The Boothby Funeral Home of Cherokee has charge of the arrangements.
Judith was born on October 30, 1938 at Hammond, Ind. to George and Evelyn (Hanson) Swisher. She was married o Russell E. Peterson on Dec 1, 1969 at Yankton, S.D. She lived most of her life in Cherokee. She worked for Louis Bierman’s Creamery, for Hallett Construction Co. for a short time and for Country Side Estates in Cherokee for 8 years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and time spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband Russell and five children: Gwen Mann and her husband Charles of Cherokee; Cathryn Dressen and her husband David of Monticello, Minn.; James Garvin and his wife Jeanette of Clinton, Mo; Dinah Lynch and her husband Tommy of Cushing; Mary Marcellus and her husband Mitchell of Lennox, S.D.; 15 grandchildren; one brother Richard “Dick” Swisher and his wife Dixie of Des Moines.
