Frank W. Wetrosky, 80, passed away Saturday, Dec. 9, at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital following a two-month illness.

Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee. Pastor Jeffrey Krueger will officiate and burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery. There will be a family prayer service at 1:45 p.m. at the church today. Boothby Funeral has charge of the arrangements.

Wetrosky was born Feb. 15, 1909, in Merrill to Frank and Bertha Schultz Wetrosky. He was married to Marguerite Wadsley on June 20, 1931, in Merrill. He lived in Cherokee the past 55 years, residing at 632 North First St. He managed the Lane-Moore Lumber Co. in Cherokee for 38 years, retiring in 1975.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of L.A. Wescott Post #2253 of the VFS, the American Legion, was a former member of Kiwanis and Cherokee Jaycees and had also served on the city council in Cherokee for eight years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister and one son-in-law, Keith Weiland, in 1988.

He is survived by his wife, Marguerite; one daughter, Mrs. Joy Wieland, Cherokee; one granddaughter, three great granddaughters, three great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Taylor, Sioux City.
