Keith L. Wieland, 63, of 622 N. First St., died Friday morning Nov. 18, at his home due to a sudden illness. He had lived in Cherokee the past 32 years and prior to this was originally from Aurelia.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Cherokee, with the Rev. Jeffrey Krueger officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery. There will be a family prayer service at 1:45 p.m. at the Church on Monday. The Boothby Funeral Home of Cherokee has charge of arrangements.

Wieland was born May 23, 1925 at Aurelia. He graduated from Aurelia High School in 1943. On June 6, 1956, he was married to Joy Wetrosky in Cherokee. He had worked for the Lane-Moore Lumber Co. in Cherokee from 1960 until 1981. He was currently employed at Obeco, Inc. in Cherokee. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion, L.A. Wescott Post No. 2253 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the AMVETS.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Greg (Sandy) Stephenson, Cherokee; his mother, Pauline Wieland, Aurelia; two sisters, Mrs. Dean (Gretchen) Mummert and Janet Kolpin, both Cherokee, and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Wieland.
