Paul L. Witcombe, 42, Waterloo, died in a Waterloo hospital.

He was born in Quimby Dec 12, 1924 and was the son of Frank and Hazel Sargent Witcombe. He graduated from Wilson High School.

He was married to Donna Wilmot March 16, 1946 in Cherokee. He was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad as a car man for 19 years. In 1963 he retired on a disability. He had been a resident of Waterloo the past 12 years and prior to that lived in Cherokee.

He graduated from the Gates Business College in Waterloo in 1966.

He was a member of the Waterloo Church of Christ and was Bible School superintendent.

Survivors are: the widow, Donna; his parents in Cherokee; one son, Gary and two daughters, Marilee and Teresa, all of Waterloo. One brother, R. Wayne Witcombe, Cherokee; two sisters, Mrs. Encil Williams, Porrington, Wyo., and Mrs. Darrell Hein, Spencer.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm Monday at Waterloo Church of Christ. Prayer services will be at 11 am from First Church of Christ in Cherokee. Rev. Phil Gardner will officiate in Cherokee. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Kearns - Dykeman Chapel, Waterloo, is in charge of arrangements with Boothby Funeral Home of Cherokee assisting.
