Thomas VanAmberg Services Saturday
Thomas H. VanAmberg, 80, of 331 S. Sioux St. Cherokee, died Wednesday in Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

He had lived in Cherokee for the past 38 years and was a resident of Cherokee County most of all his life.

Services will be Saturday at 2 pm from the Boothby Funeral Home. The Rev. Bob Davis will officiate and burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery. A family prayer service will be at 1:45 at the funeral home.

Mr. Van Amberg was born Feb. 15, 1903, at Washta. On April 21, 1935 he married Margaret Clark in Cherokee County. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church; a former district manager for both the Sioux City Journal and Des Moines Register; former district manager and salesman for OCCO Feeds and currently district manager and salesman for K-Standard Feeds.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn VanAmberg, Orange City, and Mrs. Robert E. (Mary Jane) Hickey, Anchorage, Alaska; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one brother, Harry VanAmberg, South Sioux City, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his wife on March 26, 1977, and two sisters.
