Frank Smith, one of the pioneer rural mail carriers out of the Manchester post office, and for years previous to that time, employed as a grocery clerk here, died at his home at Cherokee, Iowa, on March 7, 1919, after a lingering illness. Mr. Smith leaves to mourn his death his son Jay, and daughter Hazel, both of Cherokee. Funeral services were held at Cherokee. Mr. Cal Atkinson, a brother-in-law of Mr. Smith, attended the services.
