Melborn Massmann

Melborn L. Massman, 81, Marcus, died Wednesday in Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital, Cherokee, following a lengthy illness. Services were held Saturday, June 26, 1993, at 10:30 a.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church, Marcus-Amherst Cemetery. Greenwood Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born Nov. 23, 1911, in Melvin to Henry and Minnie (Tesch) Massmann. He attended O'Brien County Country School and later farmed in O'Brien County for many years. On Jan. 20, 1937, he married Henrietta Fegebank, Paullina.

Survivors include: his wife; four daughters, Phyllis, and her husband, Jerry Parrott, Cherokee; Pearl and her husband, Ron Ross, Carl Junction, MO.; Betty Massmann, Cherokee; three sons, Charles and his wife, Betty, Calumet; Donald and his wife, Marge, Widefield, Colo.; Clifford, Houston, Texas; one brother, Reinhart, Paullina; twelve grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one sis; and one daughter-in-law.
