Brian Keith Ellis, 27, of Cherokee, passed away Saturday, September 24, at 10:23 a.m. in the Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held today at 10:30 am from the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. James Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the Cherokee Memory Gardens. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 am at the funeral home on Tuesday.
He was born April 27, 1967 in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from Washington High School in 1985. He graduated from Western Iowa Tech, in 1987 with a degree in Livestock Management. He was married to Angie Dessel on November 2, 1989 in Cherokee, Iowa. He had been a resident of Cherokee all his life. He had worked for Wilson Foods Corp. from 1989 until 1993. He was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Local #179.
He was preceded in death by his father Steve Parsons.
He is survived by his wife, Angie, three sons and one daughter: Jacob, Jared, Aaron and Courtney Ellis all of Cherokee; his mother and step-father: Peggy Ellis and Steve Graff of Cherokee, Iowa; one brother Shane Ellis of Cherokee, Iowa; his maternal grandparents Mr & Mrs Percy Ellis of Sac City, Iowa.
