DIED

Sept. 3rd, in Spring township, pearl, infant daughter of John B. and Flora Fowler, aged 10 months, 27 days.

Our Darling Pearl.

The fairest flower that blossomed here
Has faded in its bloom;
We saw the angel death draw near
And beckon toward the tomb.

We saw her lift her tiny hand,
As though she would embrace
That strange, intruding angel band
Which took her from her place.

We stooped to smooth the curl
That on her forehead lay,
And ask God’s blessing on our Pearl
Whom He must take away.

He took our little Bird of hope
And transplanted it above;
That to Him our thoughts be lifted up
Where pearls adorn the crown of love.
