BY HER OWN HAND

MRS. MARY DUFFY ENDS HER LIFE

Found Dead in a Closet hanging on Clothes Hooks-She Was of Unsound Mind.

Mrs. Mary Duffy ended her life in this city Saturday last by hanging. The last was a niece of Mrs. Henry Kennedy, and had made her home there for about six moths. She was unsound in mind at times and had on several occasions threatened to take her own life, having at one time attempted to jump from a moving train. Saturday she went to a closet and with a sheet hung herself to the clothes hooks. She was discovered about 3 o’clock. Dr Cleaves, who was summoned, thought she had been dead about an hour. Her feet rested on the floor.

The deceased was about 45 years of age. She had been confined in a Nebraska asylum about two years, and when discharged was supposed to be permanently cured. Her husband arrived on Monday from his home near Neligh, Neb. The funeral occurred Monday afternoon.

Coronor Pelton held an inquest over the remains, but nothing further than the facts stated was elicited.
