Mrs. N.B. Batterson died at her home in this city about 12 o’clock on Monday. About two weeks ago she was stricken with paralysis, since which time she has lingered between life and death until the final summons came. The funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 o’clock.

The deceased was 58 years of age. The family came to Cherokee over twenty years ago and for a time resided on a homestead in Cedar township, afterwards removing to the city. Mrs. Batterson’s husband died some years ago. The family consists of a son and four daughters, all of whom are here to perform a most sorrowful duty. They are Mrs. G.W. Holly and Mrs. Chas. Nicholson of this county, Mrs. Geo. Conant of Lincoln, Neb., Mrs. W.W. Fowler of Des Moines and Sherman Batterson of Boone. The deceased was an estimable woman, beloved by all who have known her in the long years of her residence here. To the family the sympathy of the entire community goes out in abundant measure.
