MCDERMOTT-At his home in Sheridan township, Cherokee county, Sunday, may 3, 1891, Mark McDermott, aged 33 years.

The above death, coming suddenly as it did, was a great shock to the friends of the family. Mr. McDermott was stricken with congestion of the brain only five days before his death, which occurred at 10 o’clock Sunday night. Deceased was the son of Mark McDermott, lately of this county but now residing at Leeds. He leaves a wife and two children to mourn his untimely taking off. He was born in Dubuque county and came to this county with his parents about 14 years ago. The funeral services were held at the Catholic church in this city yesterday and there was a large attendance of the friends and neighbors of the family, among who the deceased was highly esteemed. His parents were here from Leeds, also his brother, Peter McDermott, and his wife, from Dubuque
