MRS. THOS. DEWAR’S DEATH

On last Sunday afternoon a great procession reached the Wesleyan church yard in Pilot township, where was laid away beside her mother (Mrs. Clow) all that was earthly of Mrs. Laura Dewar. Mrs. Dewar came to this county ten years ago, with her husband and family, settling on their farm in Pilot township, which they improved very fine. Mrs. Dewar was born in Sodus, Wayne county, N.Y., Nov. 3, 1844 and married to Mr. Thos. Dewar Oct. 29, 1864. She was a thrifty housekeeper, and upright and excellent woman, and in many good respects she lived an exemplary life. Her Father, W.H. Clow, who had gone to Illinois for a visit among old friends and relatives, was summoned and got home in time to attend, with other relatives, the last sad rite. Mrs. Dewar has been ill for about four months, ever since the prevalence of lagrippe, which left her very weak. We believe the immediate cause of death was heart failure. The funeral services took place after the interment in the Wesleyan church. Rev. J. MacAllister and Rev. Robt. Smylie taking part in the solemn occasion. Mrs. Dewar leaves a family of four and her husband, to mourn her loss. They the sympathy of a wide circle of friends.
