DIED

FOUST-In Cherokee, Oct. 18, 1889, Alice A. beloved wife of Wm. Foust, aged 27 years, 6 months and 2 days.

The death of this lady was not unexpected, as her family and friends had been prepared for it some ten days ago, at which time she bade them all farewell and it was believed she was about to pass to the great beyond. She rallied, however, and seemed to improve daily until Friday, when she seemed worse, and at 11:40 that night she passed away very quietly and peacefully. Some two year ago Mrs. Foust became afflicted with lung troubles for which no relief could be found. Last winter was spent in the south, but she returned in little better health and has gradually gown worse until death came to relive her.

Deceased was the daughter of Eli and Amanda Eshleman. She was born in Lee county, Ill, April 16, 1862, and the greater part of her life has been spent in Cherokee. She leaves a husband and two children, a boy aged 11 years and a girl aged 7. She was of a remarkably kind and loveable disposition and her untimely death brings sorrow to many hears.

The funeral services on Sunday were very largely attended and were conducted by Rev. J. MacAllister. There were many floral offerings, including beautiful tributes by the young ladies of the Kid Coterie, and the number who followed the remains to the last resting place attested the esteem in which she was held.
