William Mongan
46, Cherokee

William E. Mongan, 46, died Wednesday at his Cherokee home, 918 W. Cherry St. He had been a resident of Cherokee County since 1980.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee. The Rev. Don Johnson will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.

On Feb 14, 1940, Mongan was born in Cherokee to Mr. and Mrs. Elliott Mongan. He received an M.A. in English from Wayne State University and previously taught at several Nebraska high schools.

Mongan is survived by one brother, John, Cherokee. He was preceeded in death by his parents.
