Don Mongan Services Tuesday

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for Donald Mongan, 54, of rural Cherokee, production manager for the Cherokee Daily Times. Burial will be n Mount Calvary Cemetery. A vigil prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today in the Greenwood Funeral Home.

Mr. Mongan died Friday afternoon in St. Joseph's Hospital, Omaha, after a brief illness. He had been a resident of Cherokee County his entire life.

Mr. Mongan ws born Aug 1, 1928, at Cherokee to Mr. and Mrs. Walton Roy Mongan. On June 6, 1950, he married Charlene Sechler at Cherokee.

Mr. Mongan had been employed at the Daily Times for 42 years.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Rick Mongan, Clarion; Roger Mongan, Killeen, Texas, and Ronald Mongan, Cherokee; a daughter, Kathy Mongan, Ottumwa; seven grandchildren, his mother, Mrs. Ruby Mongan, Cherokee; brothers, Bob Mongan, DeSoto Iowa, and Dean Mongan, Cherokee, and a sister, Mrs. Ed (Connie) Albaugh, Valencia, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his father.
