John D. Blake, 75, died at 11:30 a.m. Apr. 28, 1969 after a lingering illness. His home was on West Okoboji for the past 16 years, after farming in Afton Township.
Born Sept. 9th, 1893 to Fred Lincoln Blake and Effie Cannon Blake in Cherokee County.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and a charter member of the County Farm Bureau.
Survivers include his wife, Agnes Scott Blake; two daughters, Mrs. Wilmer (Eleanor) Anderson, Alta, and Mrs. Raymond (Muriel) Hasenwinkel, Cherokee, three sons, Rolan and his wife , Donna of Odebolt, Russell and his wife Peggy of Sheldon, Donald and his wife, Annette of Cherokee.Eight grandchildren and three great-granchildren. A sister, Mrs. Walter ( Edna) Lynch of Tempe Ariz. also survives. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Boothby Funeral Home. Rev. C. Palmer Sellstrom of Odebolt will officiate and buriel will be in Afton Township Cemetery.
