John R. Anderson,49,passed away Monday, June 19 in the Buena Vista County Hospital. He was born on July 5,1922, in Aurelia. Services were conducted by Chaplin Arthur Marston of Glenwood in the First Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday,today. Interment will be in the Afton Township Cemetery in Cherokee County with Hughes-Nelson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Anderson was assigned to the National Guard and has been a resident of Storm Lake for the past 17 years.

Mourning his passing are his wife, Mary Lou, two sons,Lealand of Grimes, and John R. and a daughter, Lori Lu, both at home. One stepson, Roger Smith,Spencer, two stepdaughters, Marjorie, Mrs. Dan Soole and Jane, Mrs. Don Mittelstadt of Sioux City and nine grandchildren.
