(hand written - Obit, Nancy Hanora Daniels Gifford May 6, 1919)

Nancy Hanora Daniels was born December 12, 1861, at Pecatonica, Ill., where she spent her early childhood days later moving to Webster county, Iowa.
In the year 1869, she with the rest of her family moved to Cherokee county, Iowa where she spent the remaining years of her life. She was united in marriage February 23, 1880, to William Gifford and moved to the farm where they passed most of their married life, moving to Aurelia, Iowa, their present home, February 28, 1917. In November 1916, she suffered a paralytic stroke from which she never really fully recovered, and came to her death, from cerebral apoplexy, May 6, 1919, thus making her 57 years, 4 months, and 24 days at the time of her death. She united with the church of Christ at Larrabee, Iowa, in her young woman hood and had since lived a consistent Christian life, and was ever a good true wife, neighbor, and friend. She was of a happy sunny disposition and always made the best of everything and fell asleep happy in Christ. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, William Gifford, two brothers, J.T. Daniels, of Villiard, Minnesota, S.S. Daniels of Larrabee, IA, also three sisters, Mrs. Katherine Siple of Larrabee, Mrs. Lucy Kurtz of Everett, Washington, and Mrs. W.O. Dailey of Cherokee besides a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral was held from the family residence in Aurelia, Friday May 9th, interment being made in the Aurelia cemetery, according to her wishes. The services were conducted by Rev. William Baier, pastor of the church of Christ at Cherokee. Music was beautifully rendered by a male quartette composed of Mesers, Kiernan, Lewis, Satter, and Parrott of Aurelia. The Floral offierings were numerous and beautiful.
Relatives from out of town who attended the last sad rites were Jas. T. Daniels of Villiard, Minn., Jas Cassen and wife of Waterloo, Iowa: Ed Cassen and wife of Sioux City, Iowa: Wm. Talley and wife and Mrs. J.F. Pauling of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Messrs, and Mesdamess S.S. Daniels and Edwin Hasstrom of Larrabee: W.O. Dailey and family and F.W. Dailey of Cherokee and Henry Gifford of Larrabee, besides numberless friends from all over the county.

We wishto extend our heartfelt thanks to all neighbors and friends who so kindly aided us in our sorrow.
Wm. Gifford and other relatives.
