Elmer Johnson services Tuesday

MERIDEN — Elmer G. Johnson, 74, died Friday in Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He had made his home in Meriden the past eight years and prior to that had lived in Cherokee for many years.

Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Cherokee. The Rev. J. Donald Johnson will officiate with burial in Liberty Cemetery, rural Meriden. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the church Tuesday. Boothby Funeral Home of Cherokee is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Sept 13, 1911, at Brunsville. On Oct. 26, 1932, he married Pearl Tullis at Brunsville. He worked as a salesman for various companies including Cherokee Implement Co., Cherokee. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Larry D. Johnson of Meriden; one sister. Helen Jensen, Holstein, and four grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his wife on Nov. 25, 1976; one brother and one sister.
