Resolutions.
At the close of the regular exercises of
the Marcus Sunday school, January 14,
1877, the following resolutions were presented
and adopted:
WHEREAS: With the going out of the
old year, two of our number, Louie and
Eddie Steever, received from the Master
the summons to go up higher to join the
great throng of the redeemed about the
throne of him who said of such is the
kingdom of heaven, therefore,
Resolved: That while we members of
the Marcus Sunday school can but grieve
over our loss, we yet believe it is their
gain, and will ever hold in tender remembrance
the bright face, the winning ways
and the kindly acts of Louie, and the
pleasant countenance of little Ned, who,
lively and pleasant in their lives, in their
death were not divided.
Resolved: That we tender to the doubly
bereaved parents out heartfelt sympathy
and ask them to thank God with us
that by Christ's resurrection we know
that our dear ones who have passed the
river are watching and waiting for us on
the other side; that since He lives we
shall live also.
Resolved: That a copy of these resolutions
be engrossed and presented to Mr.
and Mrs. Steever and that they also be
printed in the county papers.
