Husband and Wife Dead

John Strain Passes Away Before His Wife Is Buried

Mrs. Sarah Strain, age 68 years, died at the home of her son, A. D. Laughlin, 3 miles south of Quimby, on Saturday morning last, of pneumonia.
The funeral service was yesterday and the remains taken to Garwin, Iowa, for interment.

When Mrs. Strain died, her husband, John Strain, was lying at the point of death at the same place. He passed away at 2 o'clock Monday, shortly after the departure of his wife's remains. He was 77 years of age. His remains will be taken to LeGrand, Iowa, today for interment. Mrs. Strain is to be buried by the side of her first husband and Mr. Strain by the side of his first wife.

Chas. M. Maynard had just returned yesterday from the wife's funeral when he was called to take charge of the body of the husband. He had a drive of over sixty-miles during the day.
