MRS. JAY (LETTIE) GANO

QUIMBY -- Mrs. Jay Gano, 72, a resident of Quimby for the past 49 years, died at 1 a.m. Sunday in Cherokee after a three week illness. She was born in Washta on April 11, 1897 and was married on July 14, 1917 to Jay Gano at Ida Grove.

For 30 years she had operated a beauty shop, retiring in 1961.

She was a member of Quimby Methodist church.

Survivors are her husband, and one son Perry Gano, both of Quimby.

Preceding her in death were her parents and an infant daughter.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Quimby Methodist Church with Rev. Melvin Reth officiating. Burial was in Quimby Cemetery under direction of Boothby Funeral Home.
