Joseph Alfred Ogle was born in Ogle county, Ill., Dec. 26, 1869, and died at Cherokee, Jan. 29th, 1932, at the age of 62 years, 1 month and 3 days. The days of his youth and early young manhood were spent in the state of his birth from which he moved to Cherokee county, Iowa, being accompanied by his mother, brothers and sisters. He has since been a continuous resident of Iowa except a few years spent in Kansas and Oklahoma.

Mr. Ogle was one of the family of ten children of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ogle and his parents preceded him in death. His brothers and sisters are also deceased except two: namely, William Ogle of Larrabee and Mrs. Lew Smith of Cherokee. The names of the deceased were John, Frank, Howard, Herman, Mrs. Selvina Waters, Alice Cave and Clara Anderson. Mr. Ogle never married.

NOTE: His headstone lists him as Fred Ogle. In all records that I have found for him, his name is listed as Alfred Joseph.
