Purl Cave
Purl Cave, the son of George W. and Alice Martha Cave* was born on April 5, 1888 in Buena Vista County and died on October 31, 1959 at the age of 71 years as the result of injuries received in a car accident on October 28.
He was united in marriage to Bernice Mildred Stoner on February 12, 1910 at Larrabee, Ia. He was engaged in farming near Cherokee all of his life.
His wife, parents, four brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Surviving are his three children: Lawrence Cave of Storm Lake; Mrs. Maxine Jenness and Wayne Cave, both of Cherokee; five grandchildren, Lorraine and Loren Cave, both of Storm Lake, Paula and Peggy Jenness and Alan Cave, all of Cherokee. One sister, Mrs. Grace Young of Cherokee is another survivor.
Funeral services for him and his wife were held at the First Church of Christ on October 31. The Rev. Owen Wilmot officiated and burial was in Afton Cemetery. Booth Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
