George Schuttpelz Obituary

George Schuttpelz, 71, Marcus, died Wednesday, March 15, at his residence.

Services were held Saturday in Holy Name Catholic Church. The Rev. Msgr. A.W. Behrens officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery with the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Schuttpelz was born Nov. 15, 1906, in Sioux City. He farmed east of James for nine years; then moved to the Remsen area in 1942, where he farmed. He moved to Marcus in June of last year.

Mr. Schuttpelz married Lucile Belz Feb. 15, 1933, in Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandchild, and two brothers.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Clyde of Remsen and George Stanley of Enid Okla.; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Shirley) Shea of Marcus, and Mrs. Kenneth (Darlene) Roberson of Summerville, S.C.; three brothers, Herman of Oakhurst, Calif., William in Washington, and Elmer of Sioux City; four sisters, Mrs. Leon (Freda) Rodwig, and Mrs. Dean (Elsie) Bartleson, both of Monroe, La., Mrs. Emil (Christine) Vondrak of Hinton and Mrs. Merlin (Dorothy) Luken of LeMars, and 13 grandchildren.

Casket bearers were Clarence Berding, Henry Erichsen, Alvin Groepper, LeRoy Letsche, Dale Sanow and Fred Schmid.
