MARCUS — Fred S. Knox, 79, died Tuesday, July 11, at Sioux City following a brief illness. He was born at Marcus Sept. 15,1892 and had lived in Marcus all his life.
Knox was in the confectionery business for 43 years operating as "Fred's Place." He was formerly employed by W. W. Baff and prior to that time he operated a horse-drawn gasoline delivery wagon. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star in Marcus.
Survivors include his wife, Grace; one daughter, Mrs. Anthony J . Marrinello, Long Beach, Calif.; one granddaughter, Mrs. Steven Heaston, Concord, Calif.; one grandson, Jack Marrinello, San Diego, Calif.; and one brother, J . H. Knox, Ravenwood, Mo.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p m . at Grace United Methodist Church in Marcus. Rev. Richard Vining will officiate and burial win be in the Marcus-Amberst Cemetery. Nelson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
