Rites Held for Mrs. H. Sansen
Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Sansen were held Saturday from the Methodist church in Aurelia with the Rev. H. H. Proett officiating. Mrs. Sansen passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, following an extended illness.
Burial, with Wharton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements, was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Marvin Bengtson, William. McCabe, Fred Jahn, Clifton Anderson, Alvin Peterson and Orville Peters.
Alvina, daughter of George and Carolyn Kolpin, was born in Buena Vista county May 14, 1891, and spent her entire life in the same community. She was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical church, formerly located in Aurelia.
On June 12, 1912, she was united in marriage to Henry Sansen. A son and two daughters were born to this union.
Mrs. Sansen had been in ill health for a long time. She passed away at Alta Memorial hospital Jan. 29.
She is survived by her husband; three children: Carroll Sansen of Storm Lake, Mrs. Albert Srack of Onawa and Shirley Sansen at home; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; five sisters: Mrs. George (Selma) Glawe of Alta; Mrs. Chas (Elizabeth) Hamann of Storm Lake, Mrs. Quentin (Martha) Andersen, Mrs. Roy (Ethel) Matzdorff, both of Aurelia, and Mrs. Joseph (Bernice) Shivily of West Des Moines; and one brother, Fred Kolpin of Aurelia. Her parents and a brother preceded her in death.
