Mrs. J. H. Montz, of this place, died last Sunday after a lingering illness of that fatal disease, consumption. While it was generally known that she was in a critical condition, the end came sooner than was expected, and all excepting a few of the nearest neighbors and friends of the family, were unprepared for the announcement of her death. She leaves a husband and two children to mourn her loss, who have the heartfelt sympathy of the community in their sore affliction. The funeral discourse was delivered in the M. E. church by Elder Early Tuesday, after which the remains were conveyed to the cemetery. (Aurelia Sentinel, 6-24-1886)
