Alie Caldwell, daughter of Elizabeth and J. V. Maxey, died in Cherokee Feb. 25, 1886, aged 28 years, 2 months and 12 days.

The remains were taken to Mt. Vernon, Illinois, for interment. The deceased was a member of the M. E. church, and died a triumphant death. A large number of relatives and friends deeply mourn her death. (Aurelia Sentinel, 2-25-1886)
