Funeral services for George N. Booth, Aurelia, were held from the home at 2 o’clock and at the Congregational church in Aurelia last Friday afternoon. Interment was in the Elk cemetery.

George Newton Booth was born September 19, 1857, at Sheffield, England, and died at Aurelia, Iowa, at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 19 days.

When 13 years of age he came with his parents to America, locating at Freedom Forge, Pennsylvania. The family moved to Iowa in 1868 and came to Elk township, Buena Vista county in the year 1870.

In the year 1868 he was united in marriage to Ellen McCarry. To this union eight children were born, three of whom died in infancy. A daughter, Hannah, died in 1915.

He is survived by his widow and four children: John, George and William, all of this area, and one daughter, Mrs. Mary Corrington of Quimby. (abstract, Aurelia Sentinel, 4-11-1935).
