LEOTA L. SCHINDLER
(October 9, 1921 - May 5, 2009)

LEOTA L. (GOODBURN) SCHINDLER, 87, of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009 in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9th at 2 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Magrey deVega will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be on Saturday from noon until service time at the funeral home. On line condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

Leota was born October 9, 1921 in rural Marcus, Iowa to Henry and Alma (Reusch) Goodburn. She graduated from Marcus High School. She was married to Tobias Schindler on February 1, 1944 at Dodge City, Kansas. She and her husband lived in Camp Hill, PA for many years where they owned and operated Schindler’s Restaurant. She was a member of the Unity Church in Wertzville, PA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on August 1, 1981, a son Dwayne Schindler in 1978, two brothers Elmer and Donald Goodburn and a sister Esther Green.

She is survived by three sons: Danny Schindler and his wife Cheryl of Flat Rock, North Carolina; David Schindler and his wife Barbara of Easton, PA; Donald Schindler of Ambler, PA; several grandchildren; Leota’s special friend Mitzi Anderson of Enola, PA; a brother Gerald Goodburn and his wife Marjorie of Cherokee, Iowa; two sisters-in-law: Betty Goodburn of Marcus, Iowa; Leila Wolfe and her husband Dale of Cherokee, Iowa; several nieces and nephews.
