(October 5, 1950 - April 19, 2009)

ROBERT L. “BOB” COLE, 58, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Sunday, April 19, 2009 at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 23rd at 3 p.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, Iowa. Mr. Don Agostine will officiate. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee with the family present from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. On line condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

Bob was born October 5, 1950 at Keokuk, Iowa to James L. and Sylvia (Brooks) Cole. He attended school in Rialto, California. He was a trade roofer, had farmed in the Cherokee area and was currently working at Tyson’s in Cherokee. He enjoyed fishing and flying kites. He had been a resident of Cherokee since 1995 and prior to this had lived in Rialto, California.

He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother James H. Cole.

He is survived by two sons: Jason and Justin Cole, both in California; his mother Sylvia Cole of Cherokee, Iowa; one sister: Holly L. Davidovich and her husband James of Cherokee, Iowa; a sister-in-law Robyn Cole of Rialto, California; his nephews and nieces: Tommy Mortensen and his wife Lynn; Robyn Mortensen, Betsy Brown, Missy Martin, and Jimmy Cole II; his fiancé Marilyn Walsh of Cherokee, Iowa
