DELORES J. CAVE
(December 13, 1930 - March 22, 2009)

DELORES J. CAVE, 78, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Sunday morning, March 22, 2009 in the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 26th at 10 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Larry Lemke will officiate. Burial will be in the Marcus-Amherst Cemetery. There will be a family prayer service at 9:45 a.m. at the Church on Thursday. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Boothby Funeral Home with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. On line condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

Delores was born December 13, 1930 in O’Brien County, Iowa to Richard and Bertha (Schroeder) Hohbach. She attended school in Germantown and graduated from Paullina High School in 1949. She was married to Glenn Cave on August 21, 1949 at Germantown, Iowa. She and her husband farmed near Cherokee for many years, retiring in 2003. The couple had resided in Cherokee the past few years. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid, the Neighborhood Club. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening, and especially cooking for her family on the farm.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter June Cave, a grandson Jeremey Borror, a brother Floyd Hohbach and a sister Lorraine John.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn and five children: Janet Miller and her husband Paul of Paullina, Iowa; Richard Cave and his wife Jean of Sioux Falls, S.D.; David Cave and his wife Jeanne of Cherokee, Iowa; Duane Cave of Cherokee, Iowa; Joan Borror and her husband R.C. of Genoa City, WI: 13 grandchildren: Travis Miller, Heather and her husband Bill Bremer, Tyler Miller, Stacey and her husband Mike Gaul, Ashley Cave and her friend Nate Hoiby, Patrick Cave, Melissa and her husband Andrew Orr, Christopher Cave, Kyle Cave, Chelsea Cave, Andrew Cave, Josh Borror and Emily Borror; 6 great grandchildren: Gabriel & Emma Orr, Annika & Jillian Bremer, Jazlin Hoiby, and Chloe Borror; one sister and two brothers: Adalene Callenius and her husband Merl of Sheldon, Iowa; Junior Hohbach and his wife Corrine of Paullina, Iowa; Don Hohbach and his wife Karen of Crete, Illinois.
