Margaret Enneking Petersen

Margaret Enneking Petersen, 91, of Cherokee, Iowa, and formerly of Marcus, Iowa, died Sunday December 14, 2008 in Countryside Estates, Cherokee, Iowa, following a lengthy illness.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday December 17, 2008 in the Marcus Holy Name Cemetery, Marcus, Iowa. Rev. Eugene Murray will officiate. Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.greenwoodfuneral.com.

Margaret was born on July 21, 1917 in Marcus, Iowa to William and Margaret (Bird) Dickson. She attended school in Marcus. In 1934 she married Ben Enneking in Marcus, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1962. Margaret enjoyed baking and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry Enneking and his wife, Joan, of Seattle, WA; Don Enneking and his wife, Carole, of Sacramento, CA; two daughters, Diane Unkrur and her husband, Leo, of Cherokee, IA; Mary Jo Griffin and her husband, Ken, of San Diego, CA; a brother, Billy Dickson and his wife, Bernie, of Manilla, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ben; two sons, David Enneking and Dr. Dan Enneking; a daughter, Midge Thompson.
