BETH E. SJOBERG

Funeral services for Beth E. Sjoberg, 88, of Aurelia, will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee, with Pastor Jim Steen officiating. Also officiating will be Pastor Bruce Rapp of the First Congregational Church in Aurelia. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Aurelia. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family being present from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to Sunset Knoll Nursing and Rehab Center in Aurelia.

Beth Elaine Pedersen was born February 20, 1920, in Alta, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Mary Anna (Joergensen) Pedersen. Beth attended school and graduated from the Fairview School in 1938. She worked as a nursery school teacher in Minneapolis, MN, and at the Munitions plant in Des Moines. On June 1, 1947 Beth married Chester Gilbert Sjoberg in Alta. She was an active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee.

Beth died Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Sunset Knoll Nursing and Rehab Center in Aurelia, where she had been a resident for four years.

Preceding Beth in death were her parents, her husband Chet on July 17, 1999, one brother, Murray Pedersen, and one sister, Jessamae Palmer.

Survivors include; one son, John Sjoberg and his partner Jean Hagen of Iowa City, IA, one daughter, Jane and her husband Richard George of Libertyville, IL, one grandson, Justin and his wife Nicole George of Gurnee, IL, and one great-granddaughter, Kyra George, nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
