ROBERT L. REDMAN
(August 7, 1932 - October 20, 2008)

U.S. Veteran ROBERT L. REDMAN, 76, of Knoxville, Iowa and originally from Cherokee, passed away Monday, October 20, 2008 at the Kavanaugh House in Des Moines, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 24th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Ray Kruger will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee. There will be military rites at the graveside by L. A. Wescott Post #2253 of the V.F.W. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Boothby Funeral Home with the family present from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. On line condolences may be sent to www.boothbyfuneral.com

Robert was born August 7, 1932 in Cherokee, Iowa to Lloyd and Bertha (Krout) Redman. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1950. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U. S. Army from November of 1952 and was discharged as a Specialist 5 on October 31, 1960. He received the Purple Heart Award. He had worked for Wilson Trucking in Minneapolis for a few years. He had lived in Knoxville, Iowa for over 20 years. He enjoyed watching football.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Jackie Clayton Redman.

He is survived by two sisters: Jennifer B. Correa and her husband Fabian of Colona, Illinois, JoAnn Mowery of Rock Island, Illinois; one niece Danielle Carter and her husband Gerald of Colona, Illinois; one nephew Michael Terronez of Colona, Illinois; two aunts, Shirley Rasmussen and Marcella Cline both of Cherokee, also many cousins.
