EVELINE S. DUNN
(October 2, 1906 - October 18, 2008)

EVELINE SOPHIA DUNN, 102, of Aurelia, Iowa and former longtime Correctionville area resident, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Sunset Knoll Retirement Home in Aurelia.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd, from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Private family services will be held on Thursday, October 23rd with Rev. Magrey deVega officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee. On line condolences may be sent to www.boothbyfuneral.com

Eveline was born October 2, 1906 in rural Cherokee, Iowa to Walter and Cecilia (Nystedt) Rasmus. She was baptized at St. Paul’s Untied Methodist Church. She graduated from Meriden High School in 1925. She attended Grinnell College for two years and received a teaching certificate. She taught in a one room school in Cherokee County for a short time. Eveline married Raymond W. Dunn on May 15, 1929 in Cherokee. The couple lived on a farm east of Correctionville for over 40 years. She helped with the Cushing High School Music Boosters and enjoyed the Cushing Ladies Birthday Club monthly meetings. She enjoyed vacations with family, dancing, crocheting, trips across the United States and visits to her son while he was in the U. S. Navy stationed in Spain. The most important part of her life was spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond on December 5, 1993, a son-in-law David Ferrin, a brother and sister-in-law Clarence Rasmus Sr. and his wife Faye, a sister and brother-in-law Florence and Arvid Gustafson.

She is survived by one daughter and one son: Dianne Anderson and her husband Phil of Cherokee, Iowa; Larry Dunn and his wife Patricia of Severn, Maryland; 6 grandchildren: Mark Ferrin and his wife Christina, Scott Ferrin and his wife Jane, Michelle Ferrin, Susan Friedman and her husband Mark, Bill Dunn and Kristin Dunn; 6 great grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step great grandchildren; a sister-in-law Doris Dunn of Meriden, Iowa, also several nieces and nephews.
