MARTHA E. BOBOLZ, 88, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Monday, August 25, 2008 at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 28th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Richard Arndt will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, Iowa. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the Church on Thursday. Visitation will be 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Martha was born August 22, 1920 at Meriden, Iowa to Emma Bobolz. She attended Cherokee Public Schools, graduating from Wilson High School in 1938. She had worked at J. C. Penny as a cashier and at Cherokee State Bank in the bookkeeping department for many years. She had been a resident of Cherokee most of her life. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, fishing and doing crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her mother, grandparents, two uncles and one aunt.

She is survived by 10 cousins and their families: Ivan & Shirley Bobolz of Quimby, Iowa; Donald Bobolz of Storm Lake, Iowa; Anita & Harry Mansfield of Pierson, Iowa; Iva Jean & Darrell Hackett of Kingsley, Iowa; LaVon & Roland Wright of Sioux City, Iowa; Darlene Lux of Hartley, Iowa; Curtis & Mary Bobolz of Hartley, Iowa; Janet & Rodney Thomsen of Everly, Iowa; Gale & Carol Bobolz of Sioux City, Iowa; Linda & Larry Tewes of Hartley, Iowa.
