Dale Leonard Luetkeman

Memorial services for Dale Luetkeman, 63, of Aurelia, will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at the St. John’s Church, rural Peterson, with Pastor Michael Hyde officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the St. John’s Church rural Peterson. Memorials may be given to the St. John’s Church Perpetual Fund. The Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia is in charge of arrangements.

Dale Leonard Luetkeman was born November 19, 1944, in Aurelia, Iowa, the son of Leonard and Mabel (Amendt) Luetkeman. Dale attended Brooke Consolidated School and graduated from the Aurelia High School in 1962. He then attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, graduating in 1966. Dale taught from 1966 to 1969 at Milford Community High School. He then returned home and farmed the family farm until his retirement in 2005. He married Alexandra Ross Watt Henaman on August 29th, 1992, at St. John’s Church, rural Peterson. Dale was a life long member of the St. John’s Church, serving on several boards. He enjoyed fishing, reading, dancing, and being outdoors snow skiing, trapping, metal detecting, sailing, and playing golf.

Dale died Sunday, July 20, 2008 at his farm home after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Preceding Dale in death were his parents.

Survivors include; his wife Alex Luetkeman of Aurelia, one brother, Don and his wife Judy Luetkeman of Cherokee, one sister, Lorraine K. Lee of Dumfries, Virginia, nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
