Caroline N. Kahl, 89, of Cherokee, Iowa died Tuesday May 6, 2008 in Careage Hills, Cherokee, Iowa, where she had been a resident since 1996.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee, Iowa. Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee, Iowa is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.greenwoodfuneral.com.

Caroline was born March 6, 1919 in Larrabee, Iowa to Bert and Belle (Wilson) Hilton. She attended school in Aurelia, Iowa, graduating from high school in 1937. On October 26, 1938 she married Ray Vere Green. He preceded her in death February4, 1963. On March 8, 1964 she married Russ Kahl. He preceded her in death August 4, 1996. Caroline worked as a purchasing agent for Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital from 1963-1983.

Survivors include a son, Larry Green, and his wife, Kay, of St. Croix, Virgin Islands; a granddaughter, Cindy Green, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; a grandson, Mike Green, and his wife, Michelle, of Davenport, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Shannon Lowry, Alyx Campbell, Alyson Campbell, Caden Green; great-great grandsons, Terry and Jared Lowry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, 3 brothers, and a step-son (Brian Kahl).
