John T. "Jack" Woodall, 82, of Kingsley, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Sioux City. Funeral services were held on Monday, March 10, 2008 at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Kingsley. Rev. Robert Blair officiated. Burial will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, rural Washta.

Visitation was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Johnson -- Earnest Funeral Home of Kingsley. The family was present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a prayer services at 7 p.m. There was also a one-hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral. John Thomas Woodall was born on May 2, 1925, on the family farm south of Marcus to Roy E. and Esther (Dawson) Woodall. He graduated from Marcus High School and joined his parents in farming on the home place.

On July 31, 1955 John and Evelyn J. Mathers were united in marriage at the United Methodist Church in Kingsley. The couple made their home on the family farm. Jack was also a representative for the Lester-Pfister Hybrid Seed Corn Company for 50 years. The couple retired in 2003 and moved to Kingsley. Most recently Jack was a resident at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Sioux City.

Jack was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church and had served as an elder. He was a Tilden Township Trustee for several years and served on the Marcus Fair Board. Jack was a natural born farmer and was dedicated to International Harvester farm equipment. He even drove red cars and trucks.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Terri Woodall; a sister Bernice Mahoney, and a brother Marlin Woodall.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Evelyn of Kingsley; three daughters and their families Becky and Bret Udell and their children Mitchell and Madison of Hinton, Lisa and Craig Oetken and their children Cody and Taylor of Le Mars and Michele and Brad McCreary and their children David and Brian of Jackson, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews.
