Janet A. Goettsch, 64, of Washta died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein, with Pastor Shari O'Bannon of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Ida Grove, Iowa, officiating. Burial will be in the Holstein Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Janet Alberta Goettsch was born on March 27, 1943, in Holstein, the daughter of Arnold and Gladys (Streed) Albers. She graduated from Washta High School in 1961.
On April 27, 1963, she married Larry D. Goettsch at the Morningside Chapel in Sioux City. They made their home in the Washta and Quimby area. Janet enjoyed cooking and spending time with her husband, Larry, her children and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Larry D. Goettsch of Washta; a son, Larry and his wife, Sandra Goettsch of Ida Grove, Iowa; grandchildren, Loren and Allison, also of Ida Grove; a daughter, Susan and husband, Bill Hackett of Houston, Texas; her mother, Gladys Albers of Cherokee, Iowa; and a sister, Jane and her husband, Randy Walker of Cherokee, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arnold Albers; and a sister, Joan Albers.
Pallbearers will be Brian Goettsch, Lyle Goettsch, Darren Goettsch, Kent Roepke, Cory Roepke, Mark Todd and Ronnie Lingle.
