Rayma L. Collins, 90, former long time Cherokee resident, died Friday, October 19, 2007 in Troy, Kan.

Rayma was born Aug. 30, 1917 at Gross, Neb. to Leslie and Nellie (Gray) Card. She graduated from Aurelia High School in 1935. She was married Arthur Peckenschneider on Feb. 20, 1936 in Aurelia. She was married to Vern Collins on May 17, 1988 in Cherokee.

She had worked for Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in the Housekeeping Department for 21 years. She had lived in Cherokee area most of her life, moving to Troy, Kansas four months ago to live near her family. She enjoyed reading.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vern Collins, her son Ronald Peckenschneider, a brother Keith Card and a sister Melba Jean Sweeney.

She is survived by a sister Veryle Buhman of Troy, Kan.

There will be no services with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.
