Peter Kohn was born at Boudlar, Gravermacher county, Luxemberg, Germany, October 15, 1847, and passed away at Cherokee on April 6, 1928, at the age of eighty years, five months and twenty-one days. He came to the United States at the age of 24 years. On November 18,1878 he was married to Elizabeth Fisher, at Shakopee, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Kohn came to Cherokee county in November, 1878 and settled on a farm in Rock township. Fifteen children were born to this union of which three died in infancy. The eldest son, Mathias, passed away October 18, 1925.

His widow and eleven childen survive: Kathryn, Mrs. Anna Rupp, Mary, Frank, Peter, Arthur, Charles, William and Elizabeth of Cherokee county; Matilda of Sioux City; and John of Chicago.

Mr. and Mrs. Kohn resided in Rock township until March 15, 1917, when they retired and since then have resided at 722 West Cherry.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Father Smith at the Immaculate Conception Church on April 9, interment in Mt. Calvary cemetery.

Relatives from away attending the funeral were his brother, Frank Kohn, and son John of Luverne, Minn.;Charles Kohn of Ellsworth, Minn.; and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Smith of Adrian, Minn.
