Beaver Dam Angus - 07 Oct 1886 - Death of Benjamin Phelps- Another of the old settlers is gone - Mr. Benjamin Phelps died in Aurelia, Iowa, on Thursday, 23 September in the ninety first year of his age.
Mr. Phelps was a native of Vermont. He served in the War of 1812. In 1843 he came to Wisconsin and in 1846 he took up a claim on Clason Prairie. He afterwards lived for a time in this city, and after the death of his wife lived with his daughter, Mrs. M.B. Clason. Four years ago he went to live with his son, Chas. S. Phelps in Aurelia. A few years ago his eyesight failed but his health was very fair until quite recently. Mr. Phelps leave a good reputation (berever?) he was known.

Cannot find Benjamin Phelps death record or burial location in Cherokee Co. Iowa. Was his body returned to Clason Prairie Cemetery for burial ?
