CHEROKEE, Iowa -- Kenneth A. Woltman, 88, of rural Cherokee passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Cherokee Villa Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cherokee, with the Rev. Ray Kruger officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the church. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee.

Kenneth was born May 13, 1919, on the family farm in Rock Township, Cherokee County, Iowa, to Nicholas and May (Armstead) Woltman. He was baptized at Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Quimby (Iowa) High School in 1936.

He was married to Berniece Hollingshead in May 29, 1942, at the Presbyterian parsonage in Cleghorn, Iowa. He had farmed all his life on the family farm in Rock Township, raising a lot of cattle and hogs.

He was affiliated with the Presbyterian church. He enjoyed fishing, visiting with people about farming, loved to go shopping and looking through family picture albums.

He is survived by his wife, Berniece; three sisters-in-law, Evelyn King of Springfield, N.J., Sally Warburton of Cherokee and Beverly Willard of Lake Stevens, Wash.; three nieces; and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother in infancy; and three brothers-in-law, Marvin Warburton, Henry King and Ed Willard.
