Donald L. Colvert, 58, of Larrabee, died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the Cherokee Villa Nursing and Rehab Center.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 24 at 2 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. The Rev. Ray Hampton will officiate. Visitation will be form 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. today at the Boothby Funeral Home with the family present from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. The remains will be cremated following the service with burial to follow in Sunset View Cemetery in Washta at a later date.

He was born Aug. 4, 1948 in Cherokee to Leslie A. and Marjorie (Witcombe) Colvert. He attended Cherokee Public Schools. He had worked at Lundell Manufacturing in Cherokee for 37 years, retiring in 2002. He had also worked at Kum & Go in North Cherokee. He had lived in Larrabee the past 25 years, prior to this in Cherokee. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and outdoor activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Kay Frances Pemble, Laura Rose Colvert in infancy and two brothers George Colvert and Jerry Colvert.

He is survived by a special friend Lori Wheeler of Cherokee; one sister and three brothers: Mary Jo Christian and her husband Daniel of Las Vegas, Nev.; Steven Colvert and his wife Donna of Cherokee; Joe Colvert and his wife Laurel of Billings, Mont.; James Colvert and his wife Gina of Sergeant Bluff, a brother-in-law Jerry Pemble of Sac City; two sisters-in-law Ruby Colvert of Hutchinson, Kan., Rosella Matchejeck of Brechenridge, Minn.; also several nieces and nephews.
